Business Development Representative - HR and Payroll Software - Chicago
Job Description:
About the opportunity
Initio Capital is recruiting an experienced Business Development Representative - HR and Payroll Software for a part-time role focused on HR, payroll, and related back-office software. This opening is listed through Acquisition Network and serves business customers in Chicago and other assigned markets.
You will help business owners evaluate relevant partner offerings. This is a role with Initio Capital.
The role
We provide the leads. You bring experience in the category, a confident phone manner, and consistent follow-through. Your work is outbound calling, qualifying needs, and moving suitable accounts to the next step.
What you will do
- Work a company-provided lead list of newly formed businesses and other qualified accounts. You are not expected to bring a prospect database.
- Make outbound calls to founders and business owners, explain relevant partner offerings, and identify fit, timing, and decision-makers.
- Ask clear discovery questions about HR, payroll, and related back-office software and document the customer need accurately.
- Arrange a qualified next step with the relevant provider or internal team and follow through on agreed actions.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, call outcomes, objections, pipeline stages, and follow-up dates.
- Use approved messaging and company-provided outreach tools, follow calling requirements, and respect opt-outs.
- Share recurring objections and lead-quality feedback to improve targeting and qualification.
What we are looking for
- Prior BDR, SDR, inside sales, or outbound business development experience selling payroll, HR, employer services, workforce management, or integrated back-office software.
- Confidence calling business owners and explaining practical product benefits without overstating them.
- A record of disciplined outbound calling, discovery, qualification, and reliable CRM follow-through.
- Ability to commit to agreed part-time calling blocks during the target market's business hours.
- A quiet calling environment, reliable internet connection, and clear professional communication.
- Ability to take on outside work without breaching an existing employment agreement or creating a conflict of interest.
Part-time schedule and pay
This is a remote, part-time position. You do not need to leave your current job. Calling hours and workload will be agreed in advance so they fit the availability you can reliably commit.
The fixed pay range is $3,000 to $8,000 per month, depending on experience, agreed hours, and scope.
Professional standards
We are not recruiting current employees of the providers whose offerings you would represent. Do not bring a current or former employer's customer lists, confidential materials, or proprietary data. Disclose any existing obligations or conflicts before accepting the role.
Use approved provider information. Do not promise account approval, credit, funding, pricing, or other outcomes that are decided by the provider.
How to apply
Apply with your resume and a short summary of the products you have sold, your outbound sales experience, and your available weekly calling hours. Do not include confidential customer information.
Equal opportunity
Applicants are evaluated on relevant experience, skills, and availability without regard to protected characteristics under applicable law.
