Acquisition Consultant - Finance Backgrounds
Job Description:
About Acquisition Network
Acquisition Network is the operating arm of a private acquisitions group that buys, builds, and scales US-based businesses. To date the firm has executed 350+ acquisitions, generated over $500M for partners and owners, and built a network of 550+ vetted operators, lenders, and capital partners. We work in the lower-middle market, focused on $1M+ EBITDA businesses across a range of industries.
The Opportunity
You have spent your career analyzing, underwriting, auditing, or financing businesses that somebody else ends up owning. This role puts you on the transaction side.
As an Acquisition Consultant, you advise buyers through real business acquisitions - thesis, Letter of Intent (LOI), financing, due diligence, and close - and you get paid on every closed deal in cash and equity. You do not need to bring capital, credit, or M&A experience. Our M&A advisory team, lender pipeline (American Express, National Business Capital, private capital partners), and legal and finance staff carry the technical load. Your financial judgment is the transferable skill: you can already read a P&L, assess risk, and understand deal structure. Most people applying to acquisition roles cannot.
One M&A professional in our network closed 3 acquisitions in 6 months without funding the down payments or personally guaranteeing the loans. That is what the infrastructure exists for.
What You'll Do
- Run buyer consultations and define acquisition criteria, capital position, and target industries
- Evaluate target companies from our deal flow library using the financial analysis skills you already have
- Structure LOIs and assist with valuation, deal terms, and negotiation strategy alongside our M&A team
- Coordinate financing through our established lender and private capital relationships
- Manage the buyer through diligence and close, with legal and finance handled by our staff
- Attend ongoing live sessions covering M&A, deal structuring, and financing
Who This Fits
- Finance leaders and professionals: CFO, controller, FP&A, senior accounting, audit, treasury
- Banking, capital markets, private banking, wealth management, and lending backgrounds
- Financial advisors and investment professionals who want direct participation in transaction economics instead of supporting someone else's
Compensation
- $12,500 cash commission per closed transaction
- 5% equity in each acquired company, paid through cash flow distributions and exit events
- Transaction and advisory fees where applicable
- Uncapped: typical full-time range is $250,000 to $500,000+ annually, with equity stakes accumulating over time
- Defined advancement track into the Acquisition Entrepreneur role (acquiring $1M+ EBITDA businesses for your own portfolio)
Qualifications
Required: operational US business entity (LLC or Corp), active US business bank account, 10+ hours per week, strong communication skills. Not required: prior M&A or investment banking experience, FINRA or other license, specific credit score, personal capital to deploy on deals.
How to Apply
Apply through this posting. Qualified candidates are contacted for a screening call and onboarded in monthly cohorts. If you have spent 10 years learning how businesses make money, this is the opportunity to apply it to acquisitions of your own.
