Acquisition Network builds relationships across founder, investor, operator, and professional communities. We are expanding a network of independent professionals who can develop trusted partnerships throughout local startup ecosystems.

The role

Acquisition Network is hiring a Startup Community Partnerships Manager in San Diego. You will map relevant founder communities, build relationships with operators and organizers, coordinate useful events or conversations, and help founders preparing for a capital raise connect with our team when appropriate. The role requires strong community judgment, consistent execution, and the ability to turn relationships into well-managed partnerships.

What you will do

  • Map founder groups, coworking communities, startup events, investor networks, and ecosystem organizations in San Diego.
  • Build and manage relationships with community operators, organizers, founders, and local partners.
  • Develop approved opportunities such as events, workshops, office hours, or introductory conversations.
  • Identify founders considering a capital raise and confirm their interest before making an introduction.
  • Maintain accurate records of partner activity, founder context, feedback, and follow-up.
  • Track which relationships and activities generate useful engagement.
  • Share market insights that can improve our community and founder strategy.

What we are looking for

  • Experience operating a startup community, founder group, coworking program, membership network, or ecosystem event series.
  • Strong relationships within the startup community in San Diego.
  • Demonstrated partnership development, event coordination, or community growth experience.
  • Excellent communication and the ability to build trust across different stakeholder groups.
  • Sound judgment, dependable follow-through, and strong organization.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote contractor environment.

Engagement details

This is a paid, remote independent contractor opportunity focused on building durable startup ecosystem relationships. Scope, performance expectations, and compensation will be documented in the written contractor agreement.
